I finally decided to end my bad LinkedIn habit and get back to writing on my own self-hosted blog. These are my thoughts that led to this decision. First of all, LinkedIn is in the late stages of the enshittification cycle. Being on LinkedIn felt stressful and unhealthy. Its algorithmic feed felt like I was being force-fed low-nutrient, high-sugar content. I realised that there are many, many things I HATE about LinkedIn and none that I actually love. I could rant about it for quite a while, but I don’t feel the need. We all know how shitty it is. ...

Looking for a better alternative to spreadsheets for simple calculations? I’ve found built my perfect one. Long story short, out of frustration with spreadsheets, I started looking for alternatives. Gemini helped me find a hidden gem on GitHub — a nice app that I instantly loved. The idea is simple - type text with formulas and it instantly recalculates all results, on each keystroke. Nothing to install (browser based), no hidden formulas. ...

My work on projects is often like a kid in a candy store — easily distracted, always starting something new. The result is 200+ repos scattered over three platforms, many unfinished and forgotten. I often lose track of what I worked on more than a month ago. So I started another project to fix that. Obviously. This one is a small CLI that pulls all your repos from GitHub, GitLab, Gitea — whatever you use — and lets you track and sync them from one place on commandline. ...

Remember how much fun playdates were as a kid? Some grown men still have them. Elwin Boots from the VESC team came over with a box full of “toys”. We ended up with a fine collection of high-performance servo controllers on one table: VESC, ODrive, Solo, Moteus and more. All of these controllers have their strengths … and quirks. But for playing AC/DC through a motor, Elwin’s custom controller wins. ...

A quick demo of the toughest open-source controller I developed in past months . Try doing this with a PLC.
